Exact probing of glassy states by Survey Propagation

چکیده
After briefly reviewing the theoretical set up underlying the Survey Propagation (SP) equations, we show how SP can be generalized to include external forcing – external surveys – which allow to address selectively glassy states (which may be exponentially numerous). Taking as working model the random K-SAT problem, we show that the geometrical nature of its different glassy phases can be probed efficiently. A preliminary application of this new algorithm to source coding (lossy data compression) is discussed.

Replicated Bethe Free Energy: a Variational Principle behind Survey Propagation
A scheme to provide various mean-field-type approximation algorithms is presented by employing the Bethe free energy formalism to a family of replicated systems in conjunction with analytical continuation with respect to the number of replicas. In the scheme, survey propagation (SP), which is an efficient algorithm developed recently for analyzing the microscopic properties of glassy states for...
متن کاملFree vibration and buckling analysis of third-order shear deformation plate theory using exact wave propagation approach
In this paper, wave propagation approach is used to analysis the free vibration and buckling analysis of the thick rectangular plates based on higher order shear deformation plate theory. From wave viewpoint, vibrations can be considered as traveling waves along structures. Waves propagate in a waveguide and reflect at the boundaries. It is assumed that the plate has two opposite edge simply su...
متن کاملModeling Diffusion to Thermal Wave Heat Propagation by Using Fractional Heat Conduction Constitutive Model
Based on the recently introduced fractional Taylor’s formula, a fractional heat conduction constitutive equation is formulated by expanding the single-phase lag model using the fractional Taylor’s formula. Combining with the energy balance equation, the derived fractional heat conduction equation has been shown to be capable of modeling diffusion-to-Thermal wave behavior of heat propagation by ...
متن کاملGlassy dynamics of kinetically constrained models
We review the use of kinetically constrained models (KCMs) for the study of dynamics in glassy systems. The characteristic feature of KCMs is that they have trivial, often non-interacting, equilibrium behaviour but interesting slow dynamics due to restrictions on the allowed transitions between configurations. The basic question which KCMs ask is therefore howmuch glassy physics can be understo...

Comment on " Glassy Transition in a Disordered Model for the RNA Secondary Structure " In a recent, very interesting paper, Pagnani, Parisi and Ricci-Tersenghi [1] have studied the low-temperature behavior of a model for RNA secondary structure. They claim that the model exhibits a breaking of the replica symmetry, since the width of the distribution P (q) of overlaps may converge to a finite v...
